WHAT IS UNIQUE ABOUT AMINO PLUS?
IT IS MADE FROM A COLD FERMENTATION PROCESS
Other fertilizers derived from fish, and other natural sources are heated and dried to improve shelf life. This effectively eliminates harmful bacteria but destroys valuable nutrients in fish and deactivates endogenous enzymes that can be beneficial to the plant. Amino-Plus Bio Fish fertilizer uses a unique preservation process that does not involve high temperature processes. It makes use of slow, low temperature, fermentation through the action of beneficial microorganisms. Beneficial microorganisms like Lactic Acid bacteria compete with other harmful pathogens, thereby inhibiting their growth.
This may not be very appealing as a first impression but the “stink” actually gives this product its advantage among other foliar fertilizers. The fermented fish smell (almost similar to Bagoong, a Filipino fermented fish delicacy) is due to its heat-free, all natural process. It retains the natural enzyme present in fish. The distinct smell is due to the actions of enzymes and microorganisms when it produces natural anti-microbials such as lactic acid (similar to those found in your yogurt) , acetic acid (what you get from fermentation of vinegar) and bacteriocins (produced by bacteria that inhibits growth of other harmful bacteria)
IT COMES FROM OCEAN CAUGHT FISH
Unlike other sources of animal proteins, Amino-Plus comes from ocean caught fish and not from farms, eliminating the risk of accumulated toxins and growth hormones being transferred to your plants.
IT COMES FROM A FILLETING BY-PRODUCT – NOT TRASH FISH
By-product from fish filleting process is carefully segregated and handled to prevent contamination. From fish filleting, it is transported and processed for production of fish fertilizer, within 4 hours where temperature is not allowed to exceed 5 degrees Celsius. This prevents production of harmful substances due to spoilage decomposition.
IT CONTAINS NATURAL SOURCE OF MICRONUTRIENTS FOR PLANT GROWTH
Micronutrients are nutrients needed in very small amounts but are important for metabolism and growth. Fish contains all the micronutrients beneficial for plant growth: Magnesium, Copper, Iron, Manganese, Zinc, Chloride, Calcium and Boron. (See Trace Elements)
IT CONTAINS FISH AMINO ACIDS AS NITROGEN SOURCE & CHELATING AGENT
Amino acids are the building blocks of protein – the building blocks of life. They are readily taken up by plants as a source of Nitrogen. Amino acids in Amino Plus Foliar fertilizer come from the breakdown of fish protein by enzymes.
- Essential plant nutrients are easily absorbed in a form of CHELATES.. Amino acids form complexes with essential plant elements like Iron (Fe), Zinc (Zn), Copper(Cu) and Manganese (Mn) to form chelates (Hence, they are called chelating agents). Amino acids save the nutrients from undesirable reaction like precipitation-which makes them unavailable for plant uptake.
IT CONTAINS FISH OIL THAT ACTS AS STICKER/SPREADER
- The leaf cuticle (the outermost layer of the leaf) offers the greatest resistance to foliar fertilization. (See Foliar Fertilization for more information). Omega 3 in fish oil has strong adherence to the plants’ waxy surface. It intensifies the penetration of the spray, pushing the foliar fertilizer into the plant cytoplasm.
IT CONTAINS BENEFICIAL MICROORGANISMS
- Amino-Plus Bio Fish Fertilizer contains a unique consortion of beneficial microorganisms for the plants. These microorganisms, when applied as foliar fertilizer, compete with the pathogens for infection sites and nutrients and secrete secondary metabolites on the plant surface that inhibits the growth of other pathogens. When applied to soil, these beneficial microorganisms maintain the biological soil balance and improve availability of nutrients.
